One of my favourite ways to decorate is to decorate with nature. Using natural materials from the world around makes any home feel personal and relaxed. Here are some different ways to decorate and bring the outside in!
When you think of decorating with nature it might mean flowers or plants, but there are so many interesting ways you can bring the outside in and incorporate nature into your home.
Living on the coast means an abundance of natural resources to create and decorate with. Shells are an obvious choice, but rethink how you use them in your home. Place them in beautiful coloured or metallic bowls for contrast, make a sculpture or wall hanging from them, even use very large shells as planters for succulents! Natural product collected at the beach is beautiful – driftwood looks fantastic displayed at home, whether it be small pieces piled high in a glass vase, or a table centrepiece made from driftwood.
Use natural materials as art. A beautiful branch can become a sculpture, a collection of twigs can become a wall hanging. A lovely way to create art from nature is to display a handful of pieces collected from nature in a frame. This idea is so personal and beautiful while also great for decorating on a budget.
Stay on trend by bringing greenery into the home is an easy way to decorate using nature. Terrariums are everywhere at the moment and look great in a living or dining area. Even just adding potted plants to the living area of the home can make such a difference and there are so many brightly coloured ceramic pots to make the plants pop! If you are wanting to make a big statement with greenery inside your home, try a vertical garden. There are plenty of DIY tutorials online showing how construct a small vertical garden.
Another trend is the use of crystals and gems as décor. Think agate coasters, crystals as coffee table décor and gem and crystal drawer knobs. Using crystals and gems to decorate also adds colour and glamour to your home.
With so many ways to decorate with nature, here is some inspiration…

Have fun decorating with nature!
