Is it just me or does it feel like there wasn’t a full month in March. Time has flown by and with our renovation in full swing, we have been heads down and bum up while time has whizzed by. The Oohm team has been busy learning about the blogging, checking out products and services that we want to share that will inspire and encourage everyone to have a go at renovating and decorating their own home. Now Easter has arrived with little time for preparation and the family has come home. Yeah!
If you ask any renovator what they did on the weekend, most of them will tell you that they spent some time working on their current project. It is just part of the DIY world. Renovating becomes a normal activity like cleaning the house. So how did this renovator spend the long weekend?
Doing a mixture of renovating (I mentioned you don’t ever get a full weekend off when renovating) family gatherings and adventures all mixed in together. Here’s a peek at my weekend:
The Renovations
This weeks renovations include insulating the walls and ceiling
Sheeting the walls and ceiling so now the space starts to take shape
We used ribbed panel board for the rear and side wall of the living room to add texture and age to the room
The boys were also busy building the new deck

Family Gatherings and Shopping!
Then our daughter and son arrived home and our granddaughter – (our eldest son’s girl) came to stay. She loves DIY. I wonder why!
She knows how to mix paint like a pro!

We had a great girls day out in Bangalow visiting all the beautiful homeware stores and we even had time for lunch! It was great to get away from the dust and noise of our home renovations.
We loved the flowers at ‘Heart Of The Home’ so much, we bought some
We visited the market. I love this market as it has great trash and treasure. We had a great fossic around and I saw lots today that I will use in my new renovation. Unfortunately I will just have to wait a little longer before I can buy them as we have no storage left at present.

DIY Project
I even tackled a little DIY. I began sanding this $10 table bought from the op shop. I will white wash it and turn it into a butlers trolley for the kitchen, giving me more preparation space. The weather turned bad so will finish it later in the week.Keep a look out for the finished product!

Well that’s my Easter Weekend. A mixed up few days, where taking a tiny break from the building work and doing some shopping has restored my enthusiasm. What was your long weekend like?
