Tiny Houses and Small Living

by

Having spent the last few months researching builders, house plans, building costs and all that goes in to building a house it is easy to see why people seek other ways of living. Although it’s very exciting to be building a new home, it can be overwhelming and expensive! There seems to be more and more small living options popping up, to the point that it is now being called a ‘movement’. The idea of living in a smaller space or a tiny home is attracting people that don’t want huge debt, people that want to downsize their life and people that are being environmentally aware. It’s almost a romantic idea, to rid yourself of things you don’t really need and live in a space that is just big enough for what you need, to be cosy and comfortable.

The tiny house movement usually refers to a home that is on wheels, small enough to be moved around. On the other hand there are small homes, which are on foundations, like any house, but just a smaller scale. There are some lovely examples of small and tiny homes, that illustrate just how comfortable and practical a smaller home can be. With storage, organisation and a clever layout it is surprising what can be included into such a small space. We have found small homes in different shapes and styles to share with you!
