Hi everyone. I am sorry you haven’t heard from me for a while, but I have been rather tied up over the past months. Not literally, but being a hands-on renovator ( you know that I’m a reno addict ) means my hands and design brain have been in over-drive. Over the last 6 months my husband & I have –
1) Renovated a dingy basement into a Scandinavian inspired 1 bedroom apartment
2) Bought a 1950’s rundown cottage and renovated the whole house as well as subdivide the land
3) ½ renovated our Retro Beach Cottage having stripped back the whole inside to remove the mould that was killing me – literally. I must tell you mould is poisonous and I have been quiet ill. So we have removed all the walls etc.
4) Design Guru Darlene & I have also been working with a lovely interstate family to turn their ordinary suburban brick home in Byron Bay, into a serene holiday beach house for them and their extended family to escape the city. This meant completely stripping out and rebuilding the whole inside. I can’t wait to share the photos.
Considering some people take a lifetime to renovate their home, I can see why I am a little tired and apologise for the my absence @oohm. There seems to be a theme in my life of stripping out old homes and rejuvenating them into something beautiful.
Follow me and our team as we transform dingy with hard work and love into beauty-filled spaces…
Hope we inspire you to have a go yourself, at beautifying your own home or take on renovations for profit to increase your wealth and lifestyle.
So this is how we started…..
As you can see there was nothing inspiring about this space, but I had a vision of all it could be. At least I hoped it would be!!!

My inspiration was to create a Scandinavian inspired space, like those I had stayed in during our wonderful trip to my husband’s family homeland Sweden. I searched Pinterest madly to find just the look I loved, one I could create for not too much cost.
Here are my favourite looks

And So It Begins:
+ Ripping out the old asbestos lining which needed to be done by a professional and disposed of carefully.

As you can see it is going to be a challenge renovating this space and we need to be clever to get the style and shape we want for our little Scandinavian apartment. Keep your eye out for our renovating progress and final reveal!!
