Following on from yesterday, here are a few more techniques and some practical advice that can help you create your new style without breaking the bank.
So now you’ve chosen your design inspiration and created a Inspiration Board, taken a brief inventory of what you have and worked out what you can revamp or reuse.

NEXT STRIP AWAY THE EXCESS – Get back to the basics by removing all of your accessories from the room. Box them up, take down your curtains and artworks and remove the furniture or push into one corner. Now you have a blank canvas to implement your new look.
NOW ITS TIME FOR PAINTING – Take a look at our post :

TIME TO START STYLING YOUR ROOM
If you’re going to make an investment. . . New furniture may not be in the budget, but if it is, I would put my money into one or two classic pieces. A well-built sofa with clean lines is a good example. If you have a few anchor pieces that will stand the test of time, you can always change up the other things in the room (dining chairs, pillows, curtains, accent tables, accessories etc.) around them. If your budget doesn’t stretch that far then hit the DIY community and have a go at reupholstering, crafting and creating your own decor.
Is your lounge looking a bit tired? Can’t afford a new one? No problem. Revamp that poor couch by buying it a slip cover from one of the many discount stores near you or go online to buy a customised cover.
Even better if you can sew… make one yourself! It will breath new life into your decor:
