1- A wall of Wardrobes
If there is one place to spend money when updating a bedroom it would have to be on great bedroom storage. A wall of wardrobes is a great way to get the most storage space possible, even in a small bedroom. If it is a small space, then keep the cabinetry white or a light colour, so it doesn’t overwhelm the room. There are some great options for built in wardrobes.

2- Make the most of the space you have
It might seem simple, but for great bedroom storage you need to make the most of the space you have. Often a built in wardrobe is large, but lacking in practical shelves and drawers. Another trap is not using the top shelves of the wardrobe because it is hard to reach. The best way is to maximise this space by some quick DIY. This might mean adding an extra hanging rod or shelf, or having drawers built in to an existing wardrobe. Those hard to reach shelves are a great spot to store winter clothes during summer, or items that are hardly worn. Labelling storage containers and stacking them on the top shelf means you know exactly what’s in them. Its all about organisation! There are some great products that make your bedroom storage useful and beautiful!

3- Under Bed Storage
There are more and more options for beds with storage underneath. Many beds now either have drawers or pop up to reveal storage. This is the perfect place to store blankets and bedding that isn’t used all year round. If the under bed storage is kept the same colour as the bed head, or a neutral colour, it is hardly noticeable.

4- Double Duty Furniture
Another way for great bedroom storage is to buy furniture that has two purposes. For example choosing a bedside table that also has heaps of storage room is easy to do. Using a storage basket or painted suitcase with a lid as a bedside table means you have loads of storage, plus you can add a tray on top so that it can be used for everything you need beside your bed. Another type of furniture that can be used as bedroom storage is a window seat with built in storage underneath.

5- Easy DIY
Probably the easiest way to add more bedroom storage is to add hooks behind the door or somewhere else in room. These can be used for bag, jackets, scarves or even jewellery. There are some beautiful options for hooks and hardware that look great on show and provide great storage.
