When you are trying to cook up a feast in the kitchen you want everything at hand and easy to find, so organisation is key! To get organised in the kitchen you need to have some storage tricks up your sleeve so that everything has it’s place. Here are some storage ideas that are clever, look great and won’t break the budget!

1.Storage Station

This kitchen storage station uses Ikea kitchen carts and shelving to create a great storage solution. The two carts are perfect for storing jars and baskets underneath and has the added bonus of bench top space. Also because the carts have wheels these can easily be moved around the kitchen to wherever suits and to make floor cleaning easy. The metal shelving is a great choice of storage for the kitchen, easy to install and easy on the eye! The added metal bar and hooks are a practical way to hang utensils, but would also work for tea cups or even saucepans. This type of kitchen storage is so versatile and can really be used for any kitchen utensils, crockery, gadgets or cookware.

2. Clever Drawer Storage

The use of these drawers is so clever and practical in this kitchen. Using kitchen drawers to store produce keeps things fresh and tidy and easy to grab while cooking. Installing baskets for the onions and garlic, as seen above, also means they can easily be removed and cleaned as needed. This is just one storage use for drawers in the kitchen, there are so many options with an idea like this. Think spices, flours, grains or fruit and veg.

3. Re-purposed Cabinet

This is a great idea for kitchen storage, particularly if you want something unique and DIY. Cabinets of all different shapes and sizes work well for extra storage in the kitchen. This re-purposed cabinet with shelving works here and although the glass front doors look great, normal doors may be more practical in keeping things neatly hidden. This type of cabinet is perfect with its wide shelves, for stacking bowls and bigger items. A smaller cabinet with drawers could be used for plates or napery. This is a guaranteed way to create kitchen storage that is unique and a great way to add colour to the room with a lick of brightly coloured paint!

4. Peg Board Kitchen Storage

This storage idea is great for a small kitchen! A peg board can be used for hanging utensils and pots that may not fit in the cupboards and the more hooks added, the more storage created. It only takes up a small amount of wall space and leaves any precious cupboard space for crockery and breakables. The addition of the wire baskets in this example, is not only practical, but looks great and adds colour.

5. Storage Tray

This kitchen storage idea may be easy, but it is practical and looks great! Any tray would work, but the multi tiered tray just adds another level of storage. Choose a beautiful tray and then load it up with your cooking essentials like salt and pepper, oil and fresh herbs. This idea would also work perfectly for a tea and coffee station, think teabags, coffee, sugar, honey and some beautiful tea cups. This is a great way to add a little style, while still adding kitchen storage.
