Favourite Five: Patterned Tiles


Everyone who has built or renovated a home knows that choosing tiles can be one of the hardest decisions you make. Whether it is tiles for the floors, bathroom or kitchen, choosing the right tile for your house helps set the tone and style of the entire home, so getting it right is important. There are thousands of different types of tiles from stone, to ceramic, from plain to textured, but what really caught my eye, when choosing my tiles, was all the patterned tiles available.

There are so many gorgeous patterned tiles, from bold colours, to faded Moroccan tiles that are perfect for adding pattern and texture to your home. Although I love the look of patterned tiles on the floor, there are plenty of other ways to add these to your home, even in small doses. Think outside the box and find other ways to add pattern and texture to your indoor or outdoor living spaces. These are our five favourite ways to use patterned tiles…

How gorgeous is this fireplace! The blue and white patterned tiles work perfectly against the white walls and wood mantel, such a clever and unexpected way to add patterned tiles without over doing it.

A small feature wall behind the shower is the perfect use of beautiful tiles.  These blue and white beauties work so well with the gold tapware and have that hand made Moroccan look that is so popular. This look could work with almost any type of pattern.
